Ballot Selfies Are Popular, Legal And Easier Than Ever On Election Day

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO — More and more voters are taking "ballot selfies" as they head to polling places today.

These photos are legal and even encouraged by officials who've provided cardboard props to make the moment more memorable.

While kids picked up stickers saying they will be "future voters,",many adults posed inside of a giant cutout declaring that they exercised their right to vote in San Mateo County.

"I'm going to post his cute little face with his future voter sticker on Instagram and Facebook," said new mom Madeline Nuno, who brought her five-month-old son Romio to the public library's polling site. "Hopefully, it will influence everybody else to get out and vote if they're reigstered."

Ballot selfies have been legal in California since last year, but photos must not violate the privacy of other voters or interfere with poll workers.
