NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced that its annual celebration of style and art, which was scheduled to take place on May 4th, has been postponed indefinitely amid virus concerns.
"Fashion's biggest night out" is just one of many major entertainment and sporting events forced to postpone during the coronavirus crisis, along with closures of NYC schools and Tri-state restaurants, gyms and venues. The museum itself has also shut down "until further notice."
According to Vogue, Met workers were told the museum "will remain closed through Saturday, April 4." However, with new CDC guidelines against gatherings of 50 people or more the museum has decided that "in deference to this guidance, all programs and events through May 15 will be canceled or postponed."
In the meantime, you can virtually visit the museum anytime.
