BOSTON (WEEI.com) -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hasn't looked right the last few weeks, especially when it comes to avoiding contact.
Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills also offered some things different than the norm, such as Brady not running the full length of the field before pregame warmups for his customary fist pump, and then being removed from the game with 6:39 left and the Patriots up 18 points.
This came after there was some speculation by NFL Media's Mike Giardi on a local radio station last week that the quarterback could be dealing with a MCL injury.
On "Mut & Callahan" with Marc James and Greg Dickerson on Monday, Brady was asked directly about a potential MCL injury.
“I am not getting into specifics of injuries," Brady said. "It just doesn’t make any sense. Nothing benefits me talking about injuries and my injuries and so forth. Again, it’s football. There are a lot of guys dealing with a lot of things. It’s the nature of the sport. It is about having mental and physical toughness and grinding through whatever you have and try and go out there and help the team win.”
After the game, Brady said he feels great. The 41-year-old reiterated those thoughts Monday.
“Yeah, I mean I was on the injury report for I think three or four weeks with a knee, but I have been practicing every day since I came off that," he said. "I feel great. I really do. Everyone has little bumps and bruises. It’s just football. It is a long season, but for this time of year I feel great. I feel ready to go. I am excited for this week. I would like to go out there and play our best game, play a lot better than we did [Sunday> in the pass game and complement our run game and try and go out and see if we can get a really good win against a tough team, a tough division team. Try and make sure we can get ourselves a first-round bye if we get a win.”
Against the Bills, Brady finished 13-for-24 with 126 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for a 48.3 quarterback rating, his lowest ever in a win.
