NEW YORK (WFAN.com) -- Tim Tebow is getting hitched.
The New York Mets minor leaguer and former NFL quarterback posted a photo Thursday on Instagram of him proposing to former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
"Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world," Tebow wrote. "You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
Nel-Peters, 23, posted the same photo on her Instagram account, writing: "Any dreams I’ve ever had, you’ve exceeded them all! I love you and I can’t wait to spend forever with you!"
Tebow, 31, confirmed to ESPN in July that he was dating Nel-Peters.
"She is a really special girl, and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life," Tebow said then. "I am usually very private with these things, but I am very thankful."
Nel-Peters was born and raised in South Africa and now lives in New York City.
Tebow, the one-time college football icon and quarterback for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets, now works as an ESPN football analyst and is a minor league outfielder for the Mets. He is expected to start the 2019 season with the team's Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse.
