The Philadelphia Zoo is debuting their new sloth bear cub today as a new addition to the Zoo's family!
The zoo will be broadcasting the family of sloth bears going outside for the first time together today at 2 p.m. on Facebook Live.
The bear cub has remained indoors with its mom, bonding. It's mom, Kayla, has kept the baby very close, staying near each other since the birth of the baby cub. Today, Kayla and her cub will venture outside in the habit for the first time!
As the cub grows, it will start to ride on Kayla's back in order to get around faster. Ultimately, when the cub is full grown, it will reach just around 300 pounds while feeding on insects, fruits, flowers, sugar cane, and the true bear favorite, honey!
