Heading into 2024, Swift notched a 5th week at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with her latest release, 1989 (Taylor’s Version). While 5-weeks at number 1 may seem like old news for a Swift project at this point, this achievement helped the superstar reach an even greater accomplishment.
Including the most recent status of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Swift is now celebrating a total of 68 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 across all 13 of her releases. That number means she surpasses the record held by the great, Elvis Presley, for the most weeks at No. 1 by a soloist. Presley previously held the record with 67 weeks at number one as a result of his 10 albums between 1956-2002.
The only artists standing in the way of Swift breaking the overall record (including soloists and groups) are The Beatles. The GRAMMY-winning British Rock group currently hold the all-time record with 132 weeks on top, across 19 number 1 albums spanning 1964-2001.
So, can Swift do it? The answer is a resounding, “YES!” From Swifties worldwide.
