Baton Rouge has a bad problem with black flies aka "Buffalo Gnats." They are as scary as their name sounds.
Things you need to know about black flies:
1. Routine spraying, similar to what it done for mosquitoes, is not effective on the flies.
2. They're daytime biters and the females require blood for their eggs.
3.They also try to crawl in your ears, nose and eyes.
