Upon hearing that Sharon Brown, one of his biggest fans' wishes was to meet him in person after being diagnosed with a terminal illness, Jelly Roll stepped up and joined the Tennessee grandmother backstage at one of his concerts.
“She had an aneurysm which caused early on-set dementia,” Sharon’s daughter, Melissa, told local station News Channel 5 about her mother’s health situation. “She also has renal failure, and she has chosen not to do dialysis. It’s a lot. It’s a lot for her.”
To be clear, Sharon is without a doubt a super Jelly Roll fan. She’s personally been to the church that Jelly grew up attending, which is seen on his 2023 Whitsitt Chapel album cover, and even convinced her daughter, and granddaughter Naveah, to get matching bad apple tattoos with her. IYKYK
Melissa explained how their chance meeting came about after approaching one of Jelly Roll’s crew members at a stop on his recent toy drive, revealing her mother’s “dying wish, her number one on her bucket list, was to meet Jelly Roll.”
"He gave me so many hugs... He made me feel like I was so special. He told me I only looked 50,” Sharon said of their encounter. "It was just an incredible experience to do that with my mom," Melissa said. "It will be a day to remember for the rest of our lives."
