Longshot Staff Betting Picks For Monday, January 27

We identified some high-value options to target on today's betting slate

With a two-week football lull until the Big Game, full focus turns to the action in the NBA and NHL.

And the BetQL staff has found some juicy longshot bets for you today in basketball and hockey!

Dan Karpuc: Rockets -2.5 at Celtics & Grizzlies at Knicks Over 249.5 (+1006, BetMGM)

I already LOVE the Rockets +6.5 at the Celtics and Grizzlies-Knicks over 240.5, so this is essentially taking those picks to the next level to create this longshot two-legger. The Celtics are coming off a win, but that has not been a positive for the reigning champs; they’ve gone just 18-13 SU and a horrendous 6-24-1 ATS (20%, 2nd-worst) after a win this season. Meanwhile, the Rockets have gone 15-6 SU (4th-best) and 14-6-1 ATS (best) on the road this year and will be seeking revenge on a 23-point loss to the C’s on their home court on January 3. Regarding the second leg, the Grizzlies have gone 17-5 to the O/U on the road (77.3% over hit rate - most in NBA) and 12-3 to the O/U as an underdog this season (2nd-highest hit rate). On the season, the Knicks own the 2nd-best Offensive Rating while the Grizzlies own the 5th-best, including the best in the month of January. This month, Memphis (20th in Defensive Rating) and New York (23rd) have both struggled on the defensive end, too, thus setting up the perfect storm for a bunch of points tonight!

Lucy Burdge: Devils to Win by 4 vs. Flyers (+1100, BetMGM)

The Devils beat the Bruins by four goals two games ago and they have now won their last two games. While the Flyers have lost their last two games, including one 6-1 loss to the Rangers. The Devils also average 3.08 goals per game and the Flyers allow 3.36 goals per game. So I think the Devils can win this one by four goals against the Flyers.

Kate Constable: Josh Hart Triple Double vs. Grizzlies (+1200, FanDuel)

Hart has posted two triple-doubles in his last five games, including his most recent outing against the Kings. He’s not only averaging 14.1 points and 9.8 rebounds on the season but he’s also averaging 16.4 rebound chances per game and 10.0 potential assists. He had fairly quiet games against the Grizzlies last season, but this is a new Knicks squad and his role is slightly different, so I think he can continue putting up big numbers again when these two teams meet tonight in New York.
