NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday, January 24

Best two-leg parlay featuring Jarrett Allen’s double-double vs. 76ers and Desmond Bane’s scoring streak vs. Pelicans.

Friday’s NBA slate might be small, but it’s packed with betting value, especially in the player prop market. With intriguing matchups and favorable conditions, this two-leg parlay offers one of the best value plays of the season. Jarrett Allen is primed for a dominant performance without Evan Mobley, while Desmond Bane continues his scoring streak against a vulnerable Pelicans defense. Let’s dive into why this combination at -116 odds on DraftKings deserves your attention.

Cavaliers C Jarrett Allen Double-Double vs. 76ers & Grizzlies SG Desmond Bane 15+ Points vs. Pelicans (-116, DraftKings)

This is one of the most valuable two-leg parlays I’ve found all season long!

With Evan Mobley out, Allen has recorded a double-double in four of five games this season and in 24 of his last 29 starts dating back to last season, averaging 16.9 points and 11.5 rebounds in 32.2 minutes without his frontcourt mate overall. (Allen missed two more double-doubles in that span by just one rebound, as well.) I’ll happily back a bet with an 82.8% hit rate against a 76ers squad without Joel Embiid; Allen should be able to get to 10 and 10 on the interior in this matchup.

Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson has asked his team to play zone defense at the 3rd-highest rate in the NBA this season, which will keep Allen around the post, thus boosting his rebounding potential without the threat of being drawn to the perimeter. Not only that, but he has been getting hefty fourth quarter minutes down the stretch of games, as Atkinson trusts his big man. Both of those factors are important to note, especially against the Sixers.

For the second leg, Bane has recorded 15+ points in 16 consecutive starts, serving as a very consistent and reliable source of points in Memphis’ rotation. I have no concerns about his ability to perform once again in this matchup versus the Pelicans, who rank 28th in Defensive Rating and have allowed the 3rd-highest field goal percentage to their opponents. Yesterday, Bane found out that his No. 1 TCU jersey would be retired next month during the All-Star break, so he should be entering this plus-matchup with a ton of confidence.

Again, the first leg of this has hit 82.8% of the time over Allen’s last 29 starts without Mobley and the second leg has hit 16 straight times this season. We’re getting the two-legger at -116 at DraftKings, making it an elite value option on tonight’s small NBA slate.
