My Best Bet: Jared Goff (+2500)
Am I crazy to take a guy that has never really been considered one of the best QBs in the league to win the NFL MVP award? Maybe, but I think the Lions have all the pieces necessary next season to be very successful, and that starts with Goff.
He was tremendous last season, and with the talent that is around him, he really doesn’t have an excuse to not put up some spectacular numbers. It all starts up front, and Detroit arguably has the best offensive line in the NFL. Protecting the QB is key to winning this award, as it not only helps the offense, but keeps injury chances low.
His weapons are plenty, with WR Amon-Ra St. Brown and TE Sam LaPorta becoming superstars at their positions. WR Jameson Williams has tremendous upside, and RB Jahmir Gibbs gives him a quick and speedy screen pass guy out of the backfield. I love Goff at 25/1 with the amount of weapons he has, and the protection he should get up front.
