The Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles are set to meet for the third time this season. The two NFC East squads will face off at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, Jan 26 in hopes of punching a ticket to Super Bowl LIX. One of the biggest names that’ll take the field in the third installment of this matchup is star running back Saquon Barkley. He’s dominated Washington since entering the NFL in 2018 and has some strong prop options available ahead of kickoff.
Barkley is averaging 137.0 yards scrimmage yards through 11 career meetings with Washington. Only Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown averaged more scrimmage yards against a single opponent in the NFL (with at least 10 games played), according to ESPN. There’s no reason to believe Barkley will slow down given how successful he’s been against the Commanders since leaving New York for Philly.
Barkley eclipsed 145 rushing yards in each of his regular-season meetings with the Commanders this season. He tallied 296 rushing yards on 55 rushing attempts in those contests while also catching a pair of passes for 52 yards. His dominance on the ground should be the focus, though. Barkley has amassed 324 rushing yards on 51 carries through two playoff games this season. He notched 119 rushing yards against the Green Bay Packers before exploding for 205 rushing yards against the Los Angeles Rams. The Commanders are in for a challenge.
Best Bet: Saquon Barkley Over 126.5 Rushing Yards (-115, BetMGM)
This is a lofty number in the postseason, but Barkley has gone over this total twice against the Commanders this season. Then there’s the fact that Washington forked up 105 rushing yards on just 14 carries to the Detroit Lions’ Jahmyr Gibbs in the previous round. Barkley will almost certainly carry a heavier workload as the league’s leading rusher in a must-win game. The Eagles’ passing attack has been down and Barkley has the tools to power them to victory.
