Saturday’s NCAAB Best Bets: Top Picks and Predictions for February 15

Breaking Down the Best College Basketball Bets, Including Auburn vs. Alabama and Houston vs. Arizona

Welcome back everyone, it's Big Will Bets and we dominated the board last weekend; 4-1 on another Saturday has taught me that I need to only make picks on Saturdays. I always win on Saturdays and I plan to keep that streak going this Saturday. Enough bragging, let’s jump right into the picks.

Early Wake Up: Arkansas (15-9) at #8 Texas A&M (19-5)

You’re gonna have to get up early for this one (I live over on the left side of the map) but it will be well worth it to see Coach Cal fall in Texas. This Texas A&M defense is nasty. Right now they are ranked 6th in the country in defensive efficiency and no one gets easy looks against them. They fight for every loose ball, they contest open shots and they play great help defense. Arkansas, on the other hand, is good. But, they are not your typical Coach Cal team. They don’t have a true freshman star, or multiple for that matter, and their offense struggles at times. Right now they are not even in the top 80 offenses when it comes to efficiency. An offense that struggles vs a top defense in the country, seems like you know where I’m going here.

Texas A&M -8.5.

BIG Showdown: #16 Wisconsin (19-5) at #7 Purdue (19-6)

I like the Boilermakers in this game, but my reasoning doesn’t really have anything to do with them. Offensively and defensively this is a very even matchup. Purdue ranks a little ahead of Wisconsin, but not by much. They play a similar style of basketball. So why Purdue? Well, Purdue has faced a much more difficult schedule. Purdue has played the 5th most difficult schedule in the country, while the Badgers have the 20th. Purdue ranks slightly ahead of Wisconsin, but Wisconsin has played the easier schedule. To me, that makes Purdue more impressive and gives them the slight edge.

Purdue -5.5.

BIG 12 Showdown: #6 Houston (20-4) at #13 Arizona (17-7)

Houston is going to beat up on the Wildcats in Tucson this Saturday. Houston has both a top 10 defense and a top 10 offense. Arizona is barely inside of the top 20. Houston has a group of players that take their time to find the guy with the open shot on offense. They are very unselfish. Arizona has one player who is going to get his shots. The problem is, when he isn’t making those shots, the offense suffers. I believe Houston will make that player's life miserable all game long and they will come out with a win on the road.

Houston -1.5.

Battle of Alabama: #1 Auburn (22-2) at #2 Alabama (21-3)

This is a big gamble, but I think the No. 1 team in the country finds a way to get it done on the road. Why? Because Auburn has the better defense in this matchup. The Tigers have the 17th ranked defense in the country compared to Alabama’s 40th ranked defense. The best way to stop this Alabama offense is to slow them down and take away some of their looks. The Crimson Tide want to get as many shots up as possible. If Auburn can slow down their offense and get defenders on shooters, they can nullify Bama’s offensive gameplan. It scares me to do this, but I’m going with the road dogs!

Auburn +1.5.

Road Dawgs: #15 Kentucky (17-7) at Texas (15-10)

We are playing fast and loose with the rules here, but I am switching gears and picking the better offense for once instead of the better defense. Kentucky has a top 5 offense in the country and they are taking on a good defense in Texas, but not a great one. (Texas is ranked 50th in the country right now in defense.) I expect this Kentucky team to speed up the Longhorns and make them work to get defensive stops. This will lead to a fatigue that the Longhorns are not used to because the Wildcats run a fast-paced offense. I expect Kentucky to wear down the Longhorns for the victory.

Kentucky +1.5.

Conclusion
We love our Saturdays here with Big Will Bets. Why? Because we always find a way to win more games than we lose. When we win more than we lose, that leads to more money in our pockets. More money in our pockets means more money to spend next week. Good Luck!
