Seattle Seahawks To Win The Super Bowl (+6000)
Every year in the NFL, we have teams that manage to drastically outperform expectations. These are the classic “last to first” teams, and in 2024, those were the Commanders and the Vikings. I don’t think anyone expected either of those teams to be as good as they were before the season began, as both had just a 6.5 win total in the market. Washington ended up making it all the way to the NFC Championship game, while the Vikings won a whopping 14 games before being exposed in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. While these teams rarely actually win the Super Bowl, they would have certainly been worth an investment before last season on value alone.
Now, with the 2024 season at an end, we look forward to the 2025 season and who will win the Super Bowl a year from now. I have been scouring the futures market this week to see if I can find some value in a team to invest in, and I am always looking for a team that will make a huge jump in terms of expectations. I already wrote about how the San Francisco 49ers are poised for a bounce back after a 6-11 season at 14/1 odds, but I also sprinkled the Seattle Seahawks at 60/1 as a longshot for this coming year.
I believe that Seattle has the pieces and tools necessary to make them 2025’s biggest overachiever. The formula for this is pretty simple for the Seahawks: play elite defense, make improvements on the offense, and be a more disciplined football team. All of these goals will be very possible for them in 2025, and that could pay off big time at a 60/1 number that is available at BetMGM right now.
First off, the defense was already quite good in 2024. Mike MacDonald is well known for being an excellent defensive mind, and after a shaky start to the season, his unit was one of the best in the NFL over the second half on that side of the ball. With a full season under his belt now, and with some possible additions over the offseason, I believe this could be a top-5 defense in the NFL.
Where the Seahawks will need to make their biggest jump will be on offense, if we are going to have any chance at cashing this ticket. It may have flown a bit under the radar lately, but Seattle recently hired former Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. This is a guy that received all kinds of attention early in the year when the Saints were dropping 40+ on teams, but after injuries started to mount up, they slowed down. Still, New Orleans was still a top-15 offensive team even with QB Spencer Rattler making a few starts, which is incredibly impressive in my opinion.
Seattle has plenty of weapons on offense, from DK Metcalf, Kenneth Walker, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the veteran Tyler Lockett. While Geno Smith is a huge question mark that has had so many ups and downs in his career, he has shown he can play very well in the right offense. If he can get some protection up front, which I expect Seattle to invest in, I think they can make strides under Kubiak.
At 60/1, I think you could do a lot worse than investing in the Seahawks to have a Commanders or Vikings type of season, with a good cashout chance late.
