Josh Duhamel is showing lots of love for his co-star Jennifer Lopez.
The actor and Fergie’s ex-husband co-stars alongside Lopez in the upcoming romantic comedy “Shotgun Wedding.”
The 48-year old actor and Lopez recently finished filming, and Duhamel spoke to Entertainment Tonight, where he had nothing but great things to say about his time with his co-star.
“It was one of the most fun experiences I’ve had a shooting or working in this business,” Duhamel said. “First of all, we’re in the Dominican Republic, which is absolutely beautiful. Jen was a dream to work with. She’s an absolute pro and totally engaged and loved the project.”
“We had a great relationship. I’ve known her forever, so it was easy for us to get in lock and step,” he continued. “The crew, the cast, we have a great cast and Jason Moore, the director, it was one of those situations that everything kind of fit perfectly. I’m very proud of the way it turned out and I can’t wait for it all to come together.”
The movie, owned by Lionsgate, is scheduled to premiere on June 29, 2022.
Darcy, played by Lopez, and Tom, Duhamel’s character, bring their families together for a destination wedding. While the couple gets anxious about the wedding, the entire wedding party is taken hostage.
Lopez also shared the official announcement to her Instagram page. The caption read, “Big news! @ShotgunWeddingMovie hits theaters June 29, 2022! We cannot wait for you to see this movie 💛🤍 🏝 📸: @lacarba."
In February, it was announced that the Duhamel would co-star alongside Lopez in the action-comedy following Armie Hammer’s exit from the project last month.
Hammer dropped out of the production after social media messages of his were leaked online. The alleged messages were sexually explicit and included cannibal fantasies.
“I’m not responding to these bull**** claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that,” Hammer previously said in a statement.
