SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Audacy) — South Brunswick Police are searching for the thieves who yanked a Chase Bank ATM and stole tens of thousands of dollars early Friday.
Police said the ATM was pulled from the bank location on Route 1 in South Brunswick at about 3:30 a.m.
NBC 4 reports that officials believe the suspects used a stolen car with chains to pull the ATM from its platform — all in 90 seconds. That stolen car remained at the scene, and the thieves fled in a van.
Thousands more dollars were left in the bank's parking lot, forcing responding cops to pick them up and return them to the bank.
South Brunswick Police said the investigation is active and no arrests had been made as of early Friday evening.
