This post contains spoilers for the season 24 premiere of "The Bachelor."
"The Bachelor" is back!
The 24th season kicked off last night with a marathon premiere that clocked in at a whopping three hours.
Peter Weber is at the center of this season’s action. The pilot, nicknamed Pilot Pete, begins his quest for love after being booted by “Bachelorette” Hannah Brown.
Viewers buckled their seatbelts for a new slew of contestants, an aviation date, and surprises that included a visit from an old friend.
These are the best moments from last night’s ‘Bachelor’ premiere.
Jenna brought a freaking cow
Is this the actual best contestant? Jenna told her competition to moooooove over when she brought Ashley P. Ashley P., her emotional support cow (billed simply "Vegetarian"), to her intro. Jenna is a 22-year-old nursing student from Illinois. You can take the girl out the midwest...
Hannah Brown returns to help Pete on his quest
Pilot Pete was brought down to earth with the return of Hannah Brown. Brown gave Pete the boot on last year's "Bachelorette" after he made it to the final three. In this shocking night one twist — a must for any "Bachelor" premiere — Brown pulled up in a limo and wished him luck on finding his co-pilot. But that wasn't the last we see of Hannah in episode 1.
Pete takes the ladies to flight school for the first group date
Did we mention that Pete is a pilot? In case you forgot, Pete took the girls to flight school for the first group date. The date was complete with a math lesson, a crash course in dirty-sounding aviation terms ("flying dirty," "thrust," "cockpit," etc.), and prefaced by a shirtless Pete hosing down a plane.
Victoria P. has a dramatic flashback to a teacup ride that made her sick
Victoria P. spills the tea on an emotional episode from her past: the time she got motion sickness and threw up from the teacup ride at Disneyland. "I've never thrown up in front of a boy before," she said before hopping on a spinning contraption at the flight school's obstacle course. "Pain is temporary, but Peter is potentially forever," she explained fearlessly.
Peter gets 'arrested'
It really is cuffing season for Tammy! The "house flipper" from Syracuse put Pilot Pete in handcuffs. "From what I can tell, Peter, he likes a really bold girl," she justified herself for tying his hands up and searching his pockets, where she found a prophylactic. Uh oh! Peter's lucky she didn't throw away the key.
Unfinished history with Hannah Brown?
Hannah returned at the end of the episode to host a group date and tell the new contestants about her favorite night with Peter: a fantasy suite date when the two hooked up four times in a windmill-shaped hotel. The windmill is now a trope in "Bachelor" mythology — but it's not all fairy tales for Peter or Hannah, who both confessed to lingering feelings for each other.
