Aldean was performing the second show of his Highway Desperado tour at Xfinity Theatre in Hartford over the weekend when he sprinted off stage mid-song. Fans were left wondering what happened after Aldean never returned to the stage after only 20 minutes of his set and were told the show would be rescheduled.
“Yesterday’s Jason Aldean show will be rescheduled for a future date,” the venue posted Sunday morning via social media. “We appreciate your patience as we work on rescheduling a new date, as well as the outpouring of well wishes for Jason. A rep has confirmed he is now doing well after experiencing heat stroke during last night’s performance.”
Jason addressed his fans with a video recorded on Sunday thanking them for their well-wishes and sharing the tour will go on as-planned following Saturday night’s hiccup.
“Thanks to everybody who’s called in, checked in - I’m doin’ fine,” he said. “It’s hot, I was playing golf yesterday and then got to the show and I think it was a combination of dehydration and heat exhaustion.”
Aldean goes on to say he doesn’t believe his condition was “quite as serious” as some reports have relayed, but confirms it was “pretty intense,” nonetheless.
After receiving a “couple of IVs” and taking some downtime, Aldean says he’s ready to continue on with the tour as planned. “Got a show in Saratoga tonight, gonna play that show, and then we’re going to make the one up to you guys in Hartford as well.”
