An eight-year-old girl made an amazing discovery when she was swimming, finding what turned out to be a pre-Viking sword that’s expected to be about 1,500-years-old.
The Minnesota native, Saga Vanecek, initially thought it was a stick stuck at the bottom of the lake in Sweden. But when she pulled it out, it had a handle and a point. So she knew she was holding something else.
Experts say the nearly three-foot-long wood and metal sword may be as old as the fifth or sixth century.
But Saga says her favorite part about the sword is that it reminds her of one of her favorite football teams, the Minnesota Vikings.
