More than 60 years older than most graduates, this grandmother’s time to get her diploma has finally come.
Janet Fein is 84-years-old and a mother of five. After she retired from a secretarial job at the age of 77, she wanted nothing more than to go back to school at the University of Texas at Dallas.
She took part in program that provides senior citizens the ability to take six free credit hours at state public universities.
Fein says she always loved doing the reading and writing papers for class and is still not ready to slow down as she gets older. So bingo is not how she wants to spend her retirement years.
With her degree in sociology, she is looking forward to continuing her studies, which keeps her happy and vital.
