Baby turkey, Oats, is in a very happy place now, fast asleep in this animal shelter director’s arms.
The four-month-old bird was rescued, along with Alan, from a farm before becoming Thanksgiving dinner.
Now Oats and Alan love being on-camera and hanging with shelter staff. With the proper treatment, they are expected to live long lives.
The Woodstock Farm Shelter says more than 40-million turkeys will be killed this year for the holiday.
But not for this lucky little bird, who is finally safe and sound and peacefully snoozing.
