A New York state fire department rescued a man’s very expensive, and very necessary prosthetic leg three whole days after he lost it jet skiing in the Hudson River.

After a few attempts to locate the leg, fire and rescue crews from Corinth, NY, along with local divers, eventually found it in about 15-feet of water.

Officials say the electric prosthetic, made in Austria, is worth more than $100,000 and are just glad to be able to return the leg in working order.

The amputee, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident, says he considers himself fortunate that people would go to such depths, literally, to help him.
