YONKERS, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Emergency workers in Yonkers came to the rescue of a tiny kitten stuck in a sewer on Saturday.
A good Samaritan, who was walking her dog at around 8:30 a.m., said she discovered the stranded feline crying for help near 276 Riverdale Ave.
She immediately called for help and members of the 3rd Precinct and Emergency Service Unit responded with a plan to rescue the scared kitten.
ESU Officers Jamie Molina and Anthony Alaimo suited up and went into the sewer to bring the kitten to safety, wrapping it in a towel for warmth.
The lucky feline was taken safely to the Yonkers Animal Shelter where it is receiving attention.
