Perhaps the biggest move of the MLB off season was the St. Louis Cardinals trade for former Rockies star 3rd baseman Nolan Arenado. With that acquisition will come huge expectations for the Red Birds in the 2021 MLB season. The Cardinals players know this, and felt the excitement internally when the trade happened.
Cardinals pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon joined The DA Show on Tuesday morning and discussed the team’s reaction to the trade.
“Everyone was pumped up, our group chat lit up, he was instantly added in there and we were all welcoming him. Everyone’s excited.” Ponce de Leon added, “I am excited, that addition of Nolen Arenado brings life to both the pitchers and hitters.”
Daniel Ponce de Leon’s role with the Cardinals may land him in the rotation, or even in the bullpen, but whatever his role is his comeback story from being hit in the head by a line drive in Triple A in 2017 is inspirational. He details that moment and his road back in his new book “One Line Drive,” available everywhere books are sold now.
