The Los Angeles Rams are viewed as legitimate Super Bowl contenders with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford at the helm, and second-year lineman Tremayne Anchrum is eager for the 2021 regular season to begin.

"The energy is incredible. The guys are excited, the coaches are excited, the fans. You can feel it all around SoCal," Anchrum told The DA Show on Monday. "People are excited to see one of the legends [in Stafford], one of the best in the game, one of the best head coaches in the game [in Sean McVay] with a really talented roster, and see how far we can take this thing... Week in and week out, this is the National Football League. This is one of the greatest leagues in sports, and you've got to bring it every week.

"You've got to treat every week like it's a new season and really just prepare, focus, and really lock-in. They may have us penciled in as favorites, they may have us as the giants of this division, but hey, there's a bunch of respectful guys on the other side. And we really have to take our time and be the best that we can be every week. It can't be won on paper, and that's exactly our mentality going into every week."

Stafford, who was part of a blockbuster deal between the Rams and Lions in late January, spent 12 seasons with Detroit, and finished the 2020 campaign with 4,084 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 16 games. Since the trade didn't include an extension or a pay raise, Los Angeles will inherit the two years and $43 million remaining on Stafford's contract.

Last season, with Jared Goff under center, the Rams offense ranked 22nd in the league in points per game (23.3), 23rd in total points (372), and 25th in percentage of drives ending with an offensive score (34.2).

According to the William Hill Sportsbook, the Rams currently own the fourth-best odds to win Super Bowl 56 at SoFi Stadium, and the second-best odds to win the NFC.
