One of the most recognizable Spanish-language artists on the planet, Shakira is getting ready to take the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show alongside superstar Jennifer Lopez.
In honor of her upcoming performance, we're looking back at some of her biggest collaborations. Listen to Shakira's most successful duets in English and Spanish below.
Hips Don't Lie
Wyclef Jean
"Hips Don't Lie," from Shakira's second English-language album, hit number one on Billboard's Hot 100 list in June of 2006. It was also a runaway smash in Latin America, reaching number one on several lists, including Latin Airplay and Hot Latin songs.
La Tortura
Alejandro Sanz
A back and forth between a woman fed up with her cheating lover, who is begging to be taken back, "La Tortura" hit #1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay lists in 2005.
Beautiful Liar
Beyoncé
"Beautiful Liar," Shakira's duet on Beyoncé's "B'Day" album, went platinum. It hit number one in several European countries and paved the way for more Shak collaborations in English.
Can't Remember to Forget You
Rihanna
The first single off her self-titled album, Shakira's "Can't Remember to Forget You" peaked at number 2 in Spain, went to number 5 in France, and snagged the number 6 spot on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs list.
Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)
Freshlyground
This 2010 World Cup anthem is a collaboration with Freshlyground, an Afro-fusion band based out of Cape Town. Fun fact: Shakira met her partner, soccer player Gerard Piqué, through the song's music video. He made a quick cameo, caught her eye, and two kids and ten years later the rest is history.
La Bicicleta
Carlos Vives
An homage to the easy-going way of life in their country, Shakira joins forces with fellow Colombian Carlos Vives on "La Bicicleta," which incorporates elements of vallenato, a traditional folk music that originated in the South American country.
Mi Verdad
Maná
The biggest rock band in Latin America, Maná invited Shakira to join them on "Mi Verdad." A sweet lullaby that claims that, despite all of the lies and bad things in the world, "you are my love, my joy, the truth in my life," the song went number 1 in 2015 on several Billboard charts, including Latin Airplay and Hot Latin Songs.
