Today on TikTok, with the help of Josie Totah, Shangela, and Jonathan Bennett, GLAAD announced all their nominees for their 32nd annual GLAAD Media Awards.

The list is brimming with major musicians, including Lady Gaga, Halsey, Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, and more. GLAAD will be presenting their usual “outstanding music artist” category as well as a new category that recognizes LGBTQ+ artists who achieved mainstream success in 2020 and “whose songs, music videos, or live performances have made a significant impact on LGBTQ visibility and acceptance,” GLAAD states in a press release.

The “outstanding breakthrough artist” category includes nominees such as Arca, Chika, Rina Sawayama, Phoebe Bridgers, Orville Peck, and more.
GLAAD’s President and CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis shared, "During an unprecedented year of crises and isolation, the nominees for the 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards reached LGBTQ people with powerful stories and inspired countless others around the world with bold looks at LGBTQ people and issues. As GLAAD continues to lead the fight for LGBTQ acceptance, this year’s nominees remind us that even in times of political and cultural division, diverse LGBTQ representation and visibility can enlighten, entertain, and create lasting change.”
