Pat Sajak just showed that current movies might not be his trivia specialty.
On the latest episode of the primetime, celeb-filled version of "Wheel of Fortune," actress Tatyana Ali from “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” neatly wrapped up a Before and After puzzle with the answer, “Eggs Benedict Cumberbatch.”
After the audience clapping died down, Sajack said, “we know eggs benedict, but explain Benedict Cumberbatch.”
Now before you think it’s kind of odd that Pat Sajak didn’t know who the Oscar-nominated actor was, neither did Ali, who answered the puzzle correctly, but balked on specifics.

“Benedict Cumberbatch is,” she haltingly answered to Sajak, “um, Benedict Cumberbatch is an… an actor, right?”
“Oh okay, good,” said Sajak.
Did we mention Cumberbatch has also been nominated for multiple Golden Globes and won an Emmy for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes? Oh, and he also happens to be a regular in the Marvel Universe now as Dr. Strange.
As Yahoo Entertainment reported, Sajak tried to walk things back for a second, but quickly admitted, “I put the onus on her, because I didn’t have the answer. So I pretended like I was just saying, ‘So tell us, I of course know it, but you tell us.’ And that was a little host trick.”
For fans of "WOF" who instantly jumped to Twitter to announce their shock at Sajak’s flub, Sajak just as instantly apologized, in his funny way. “My apologies, Mr. Cumberbatch," said Sajak. "But I spend a lot of time in my basement. I have no idea what’s going on.” The show itself shared apology clean-up duties on its Twitter.
If you’re still a little hazy about who Cumberbatch is, you can see him now in the Golden Globe-nominated “The Power of the Dog," in theaters and streaming on Netflix.
