“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak was not in his usual spot onstage for the bonus round during the show’s April 26 episode.
Sajak switched spots with the program’s announcer Jim Thornton, as the person who was in the bonus round was a huge admirer.
The contestant, Sarah, told Sajak at the episode’s opening how big a fan she was of Thornton.
“I love Jim Thornton so much,” she told the host.

“And how could someone not? His voice? So soothing and energizing,” she commented. “He’s hilarious, and he just is such a good person. And when he’s not on the show, when I don’t see his face, I just hear his voice, I worry about him. So, I’m so glad he’s here.”
Sarah made the bonus round as the show came back from a commercial break, Thornton had become the host.
She didn’t win the round’s prize, but she was certainly stoked to be onstage with Thornton.
“I’m starstruck,” Thornton said as he hugged Sarah.
“Did I miss anything?” Sajak asked Vanna White when he returned and everything returned to normal.
