The “Stone Cold” singer showed off their new ink and freshly shaved head via Instagram. The body art was illustrated by celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo, who previously inked Beautiful Chorus' song lyrics on Lovato’s hand back in August.
Lovato further explained the meaning behind their new tattoo, “Grandmother Spider,” a meaningful figure in Indigenous American mythology. “It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things," they wrote. "She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web — each one of us having our own place in this world.”
The bold head tattoo and buzzcut comes after Lovato reportedly completed a rehabilitation treatment in 2021, following a near-fatal drug overdose in 2018. According to Page Six, Lovato went to rehab late last year and returned home ahead of the holidays. Reportedly, it was their decision to go back to rehab.
In December, Lovato stated that they were no longer “California sober,” writing on Instagram that "Sober sober is the only way to be."
