You guys, the Candle Day sale at Bath & Body Works is ROUGH on day one...specifically online.
Their $9.95 3-wick candle sale is running Friday through Sunday in stores, and is online only on Friday. I decided to go the online route, but I'm pretty disappointed for a few reasons.
First of all, the website was slow AF because everyone else in the country was trying to get in on this deal. I totally get it. This happens all the time when everyone rushes to buy stuff online, but that doesn't make it any less annoying.
When browsing through the 3-wick candle scents they had available, I couldn't help but notice a majority of their scents were missing. Weeks ago, Bath & Body Works was telling everyone that they'd have all their scents to choose from along with other surprises, and suggested stocking up on scents that aren't winter-specific so you can enjoy them later. They definitely had some of those, but not the ones that I wanted. They had a lot of the cheaper scents that just aren't that great. Like, not to knock watermelon but that's such a basic summer scent that I don't want it. Same with coconut. All that they had for their online selection were winter scents and cucumber melon. Gross.
Also, the online stock "sold out" halfway through the day. SERIOUSLY? We all know they're not actually sold out, so I just find this tactic to be completely irrisponsible with a pandemic going on. Okay, I'll admit I'm tempted to head to a store to shop for more candles (hey, the marketing's working and I hate it) but it just disgusts me that this is the way the sale's being handled. I think it would be more beneficial for them to extend the online option, but that's just my opinion.
Have you run into these issues? What do you think of how they're handling Candle Day?
Honestly, at the end of the day, I'm just happy I got something even though it's not what I was really hoping for.
