The Sacramento region is heading back into the purple tier as the regional stay-at-home order ends.

In a tweet, Governor Gavin Newsom said, "Hospitalization growth rates have slowed. ICU & positivity rates are stabilizing. Today, the Sacramento region is coming out of the Regional Stay-at-Home Order. Hopeful signs - but we must approach them cautiously. Wear a mask. Be safe. Avoid gathering."

On Monday, Newsom said the goal is to get 1 million more Californians vaccinated within a 10-day period. To accomplish this, several mass vaccination sites have opened across California, including one at Cal Expo here in Sacramento. Read more about that story here.
