Were these baby names ruined by pop culture?

Lifehacker.com released a list of "once normal" baby names that may have been ruined by pop culture, and I definitely think a LOT more names could be added to the list.

Some of the names on the list are Karen, Chad (Karen's alpha-bro counterpart), Mario (like the video game character), Hermione, Siri/Alexa, Katrina (like the hurricane), and Waldo.

Surely just about any movie villain name could be added to the list, even if we actually love those characters. The names that come to mind in that case are Regina (like Regina George from Mean Girls), Ursula, or Chucky (the doll, no the Rug Rat).

Or "villains" in the press...like Johnny and Amber. Yikes. Or half the population may consider names like Kim, Kylie, Kendall, Kris, Kourtney, and Khloe to be ruined by the Kardashian-Jenners.

This also brings up the idea that soooooo many other names have been ruined for each person on an individual, personal basis for other reasons beyond pop culture. For me personally, the name Miranda is one of those. I had a best friend in middle school that flipped out on me for not wanting to do drugs and her name was Miranda. So now the name just rubs me the wrong way. (Sorry to all the other Mirandas out there, it's nothing personal against you!)
