It's time for UGA to be more relevant in Playoff conversation

The Georgia Bulldogs squeezed out a victory against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Peach Bowl. Jack Podlesny boomed a 53-yard field goal to save Kirby Smart from his usual post-season criticism.

Some of the criticism has been warranted because of the expectations that have been set by the Georgia faithful. Jon Chuckery has always been a proponent for looking at Smart as a guy that should be competing for SEC championships every year. "It's time to start talking about being in the playoffs," Chuckery said.

When Mark Richt was fired back in 2015, the expectation was that Smart could take this team to the next level.

Looking back at the 2020 season, the Bulldogs seemed to have slipped into a malaise. Smart trying to have a quarterback competition mid-season hasn't helped. The Bulldogs seemingly have their guy in J.T. Daniels, but Smart is going to have to figure out how to get back to the playoffs and actually finish the drill this time.
