The Georgia Bulldogs made headlines last week when they announced Gunner Stockton would be one of the players representing the Bulldogs at SEC Media Days, however had not made an official announcement on who their starting quarterback for 2025 would be.

On Wednesday, 92-9 The Game's Carl Dukes and Mike Bell were joined by college football analyst and former Auburn Tiger, Cole Cubelic who shared his thoughts on what he believes Stockton brings to the Georgia locker room even if his role for the year has not been made public.

"Here's what sold me on Gunner Stockton and I know he's the newer starting quarterback, but I was on the sideline for the SEC Championship game and we didn't know who the starter was because we saw that hit at the end of the first half," Cubelic said as he described how he and his broadcast partner were trying to determine if Carson Beck would return to the field after suffering an injury against Texas in the conference title game.

"We're over there watching, watching, watching and you could tell when they put the hat and go start warming up, that sideline erupted and it was different. It was a different energy, it was a different vibe," Cubelic continued as he shared the reaction he witnessed once Stockton was the apparent starter for the second half of the game.

"I Kirby (Smart) about it right down there yesterday on TV and he said, 'yeah, because those guys wanted to win for him," Cubelic said of asking Georgia's head coach about the support Stockton received from his teammates.
