The Reel Buzz: Disney+ release dates announced for ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ and ‘Loki’

Fans will be able to enjoy a new Star Wars series not too long from now in a living room not so far away.

A new spinoff of the beloved franchise is coming soon from the streaming platform that brought you the fan-favorite “The Mandalorian.”

It was announced Wednesday that “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” is coming to Disney+ on May 4th, which is Star Wars Day (you know the meme — “May the Fourth Be With You”). Subsequent new episodes will premiere every Friday.

The new series will chronicle the Bad Batch, the experimental clones introduced in “The Clone Wars” as they navigate the galaxy following the Clone War.

“Members of Bad Batch, as they prefer to be called — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew,” the announcement on the Star Wars website explains.

The new show will be one part of a rock-solid lineup — Disney+ will be the destination for the new series “Loki” from Marvel Studios. The show hits the platform on June 11.

In the show, “Thor” fans will get to enjoy the return of Tom Hiddleston as Thor’s title character brother, the God of Mischief and his actions after the end of “Avengers: Endgame.”

Other cast members will include Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku.
