What’s in a name? When it comes to baby names, a lot.
If you’ve got a 2020 due date, you're probably already perusing the sites for the perfect moniker.
Choosing a baby name is difficult for parents because there’s so much pressure surrounding the decision. For starters, it’s permanent and will define your baby for a lifetime.
You also want both parties to like it, which is why many parents turn to lists. Some simply want inspiration and a list of popular names is just that, while others want a name that isn’t common and so, the list gives them an idea of names to avoid.
Names.org released predictions for the most popular baby names of 2020 and not much has changed from the 2018 and 2019 lists.
Both top boy and girl names -- Liam and Emma -- are holding steady for 3 years in a row now.
The list includes trendy names such as Noah (for boys) and Harper (for girls) along with some classic names like Henry (for boys) and Sophia (for girls).
A few of the names seem to draw inspiration from the royal family including William and Charlotte.
The rankings are determined by a few factors including recent data from the Social Security Administration, trends from the past five years, and interest from visitors to the website.
Check out the predictions below:
