Two rocket launchers and a grenade were discovered in a trashcan near a school in California, NPR reports.

Perris Station police responded to a call on Wednesday about an individual who had discovered military weapons in a dumpster. This location is less than a mile from a local high school.

Authorities found two AT4 rocket launchers and a practice grenade in the dumpster.

"Although the launcher tubes are illegal to possess, they were not a safety hazard and there was no threat to the community. This incident was not an unusual occurrence, as we routinely find and seize inert military ordnance," said a representative from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s office called their Hazard Device Team to the scene, and the items were collected without incident.
