Helena Bonham Carter and Pierce Brosnan are slated to appear in new romantic comedy, "Not Bloody Likely."

The film is based off of the true story of the 1914 West End production of George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion," which was later adapted into the Oscar-winning "My Fair Lady."

The movie sees Shaw (Brosnan) as he writes "Pygmalion" and then ultimately attempts to get Mrs. Pat Campbell (Bonham Carter) as the lead, Eliza Doolittle.

The movie ultimately tracks a potential love story between the two.

The movie is written and directed by Joel Hopkins, having previously written and directed "The Love Punch," which also starred Brosnan. "Not Bloody Likely" will be produced by Adam Rolston and David Braithwaite.

Production will begin in the UK in 2021.

"This is exactly the kind of film the world needs right now," said producers Rolston and Braithwaite. "A feel-good story that will make you laugh and make you cry for the right reasons. We can't wait to get started."

Cornerstone Films will handle the sales rights, as well as introduce the film at this month's American Film Market.

Cornerstone's Alison Thompson and Mark Gooder added, "Joel's wonderfully entertaining script breathes new life into the most beloved of Shaw's plays and the casting of Helena Bonham Carter and Pierce Brosnan will make this a strong commercial proposition for buyers around the world."

Recently, Bonham Carter starred in "The Crown" as well as "Enola Holmes" on Netflix while Brosnan was in "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" and the upcoming film "Cinderella."
