Fans often believe they have a connection to the bands and musicians they claim are their favorite. However, for one fan on the metal group Hammerlord, his connection goes much deeper than just the music. A Reddit post from a few years ago resurfaced recently and went viral; explaining the story of a Hammerlord fan waking up from a coma, only to realize his respiratory therapist was the band’s bass player.
According to the viral post, the man, who was a metal fan, woke up from a coma to realize one of the staff members at the hospital was a member of the band he was a fan of. “I woke up from a three-day coma. A guy came in, woke me up, and said, 'Mason, my name is Terry and I'm here to take out your breathing tube.' I opened my eyes wider and my first words were, 'Terry Taylor from Hammerlord!'," said the post.
Not only did he get to meet Taylor, but the rest of the band came to visit a few days later. "I got a package a few days later with a bunch of Hammerlord stuff,” the post read. Not a bad way to wake up from a coma.
