New research published by The Action Network has found that Texas is home to two of the most-cursed arenas in all of the NBA.
Not so great to hear as the NBA season is just kicking off.
According to the study, the American Airlines Center, the home of your Dallas Mavericks, is the second most cursed arena in the league, after the study evaluated 18 NBA seasons of Halloween-week games, ranking venues based on home losses, blown fourth-quarter leads, clutch free-throw collapses, cold shooting, and buzzer-beater losses.
According to CW33, the Mavs have lost seven of 14 Halloween-week home games at the AAC, and during those games have twice surrendered double-digit leads in the fourth quarter.
They also shot 27.5 percentage points worse from the free-throw line during clutch situations compared to their season averages.
The other Texas arena to find itself almost as cursed, Toyota Center in Houston, home of the Rockets, who ranked third in the NBA.
If only the Rockets were a little more cursed last night…
