For music fans, there isn’t much worse than hearing news of a group’s breakup. Now, one of the most recognizable names in electronic music has decided to call it quits after 28 years. The French duo behind Daft Punk released an 8 minute video this week announcing their breakup.
Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo released the video titled ‘Epilogue’ featuring both in their iconic robot helmets on Monday, according to Fox News. In the video; the two meet one last time before blowing up, ending their 28 year run. The duo gained international success over the years thanks to songs such as; ‘One More Time,’ ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ and ‘Get Lucky.’
Daft Punk was formed in 1993 with their debut album coming four years later. Not much is known about what’s next for the two musicians, though many fans are excited to see what’s to come. Hopefully a reunion tour is in the robots’ future.
