Valery Jean-Bart, owner of Val’s Blue Label bakery, has struggled with financial challenges thanks to the pandemic, and ongoing construction out front of his store.
He understands people just don’t have as much to spend nowadays and has come up with a way to help folks enjoy his creations without incurring the cost to their wallets: bartering.
Jean-Bart will trade his goods and services for your goods and services as an alternate to cash payments.
Jean-Bart took to Instagram to list some of the services he’d be willing to trade for, including fitness training, produce, and gift cards.
Jean-Bart is just looking to offer a little more flexibility at a time when many Americans are feeling the strain of higher prices.
He told NBC DFW, “It’s kind of like, right now you have Zelle. People who are taking payment are circumventing the normal channels of doing commerce, of doing business.”
