The premise of Drunk Shakespeare is simple.
Six actors take a small stage to perform some classic works of William Shakespeare. Five of them are sober, and one of them takes five shots of whiskey backstage before performing.
Hilarity ensures.
Drunk Shakespeare is an off-Broadway production that has performed in New York City, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and now they have set up shop in Dallas, at Deep Ellum Art Co.
Per the Dallas Morning News, attendees can sit in the balcony, mezzanine or stage side or opt for the royal experience, which includes sitting in thrones and being the king or queen for the night, which includes a bottle of champagne, two cocktails, treats such as caviar and chocolate and the opportunity to influence the performance.
Drunk Shakespeare will hold performances at Deep Ellum Aet Co. Wednesdays and Sundays through September 20.
Tickets start at $49.
