Health officials across the state aren’t the only ones concerned with the rising number of cases of Cyclosporiasis, the parasite that causes, among other symptoms, explosive diarrhea.

As a response to the outbreak, Taco Bells across the state have temporarily removed several items from their menu to hopefully quell the spread of the bug.

According to Dallas Express, Taco Bell has removed lettuce, guacamole, and pico de gallo from its menus strictly “out of caution” as the parasite continues to be investigated, and while they switch to alternative suppliers to “ensure customer safety.”

Taco Bell has not offered a date in which the items will return to the menu, explaining that it depends on supplier verification and health authority guidance.
