Most kids dream about one day becoming a professional athlete.
It seems most dads who never made it past high school ball also dream about their kids one day becoming pro athletes, and though the chances are incredibly slim, Dallas residents have a better chance than most around the country at making the big leagues.
A new study conducted by the health insurance comparison site iSelect ranked Dallas fifth in the nation for producing professional athletes!
With 1,331,752 residents, Dallas has produced 808 pro athletes, about 60.67 athletes per 100,000 capita. That falls only behind Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, and San Diego.
Philadelphia ranked fifth globally for producing pro athletes, bested by Liverpool, United Kingdom; Sheffield, United Kingdom; Budapest, Hungary; and Auckland, New Zealand.
