Not everything appears to be as it seems, such is the case with this home in a seemingly quiet Mesquite neighborhood.

The home, at the corner of Pecan Dr. and Walker St., was actually revealed to be the storefront for one of the largest counterfeit jewelry operations the Mesquite PD had ever seen.

According to WFAA, about 3,700 pieces of counterfeit jewelry were recovered in the home, with a street value of roughly $70,000. Had the pieces been authentic, we’re looking at about $9 million in jewelry.

Lt. Michael Kelly with the Mesquite Police Department said, “It wasn't just that somebody had a few counterfeit items and was trying to sell them. It was a full-blown sales operation.”

Police say the jewelry was sold online, along with being displayed in the home. The house also had a card reader set up, and an additional room in the back held even more inventory.

Three suspects were arrested after a search warrant was served at the home.
