There are some neighborhoods in DFW that when passing through drivers can't help but slow down and stare out the window at the massive homes lining the streets. North Texas is home to plenty of these properties, and a new study has shown why it's so common. The study recently placed the metroplex in the top 20 for most million dollar homes in America.
Personal finance platform LendingTree recently conducted a study to find the cities with the most million dollar homes. Based on their findings, DFW ranked 20th in the country, with 34,376 homes in that price range. According to Dallas Culture Map, that makes up 2.2 percent of owner-occupied homes in the area.
Also making the cut were Austin at number 12 and Houston at 17. "Though home prices have risen significantly over the past two years, paying $1 million or more for a house may still seem excessive to most Americans," said LendingTree. Thanks to this study, finding the perfect home in DFW just got a little harder.
