Any time musicians get together to jam, fans start dreaming up potential supergroups. However, lately it has been more than just fans thinking about iconic musicians joining forces. Last week, it was announced that Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins had started a supergroup with Dave Navarro.
Now, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has announced he is going on tour with his new supergroup, The Earthlings.
Eddie Vedder may be known for his work with Pearl Jam, but the singer has had success as a solo artist as well. Now, to support his solo material, Vedder has announced he is hitting the road and has formed a supergroup as his backing band to perform with him. Along with Vedder will be Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith, the band's former guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, Glen Hansard, Andrew Watt, and Chris Chaney. Chaney is in Taylor Hawkins' previously announced supergroup as well.
According to NME, Vedder and the Earthlings will hit the road in 2022 with a number of planned stops, and hopefully more to be announced at a later date. Soon fans may be demanding a battle of the supergroups show.
