A landmark building in Dallas suffered the effects of the winter storm after the glass atrium at the historic Adolphus hotel in downtown Dallas buckled and shattered under the weight of ice and snow Tuesday afternoon.

Thankfully no injuries were reported, as the area had been closed to guests and staff before the incident occurred.

The hotel released a statement per the Dallas Morning News that read, “The team anticipated this scenario, and had pre-restricted this area of the hotel from any guest or staff access.”

The hotel is actively working to replace the glass and reopen the space, although officials did not provide an estimate on when that would occur.
